Frequently Asked Questions

What is laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal is a cosmetic treatment that uses concentrated laser light to target hair at the root. By targeting the melanin (pigment) in the hair, the laser’s energy is absorbed and converted into heat which then travels down the root of the hair and disables the hair follicle. The disabled hair follicle then loses its ability to regrow hair. If the hair does grow back it is usually finer and lighter. Since hair grows in different cycles, multiple sessions are required in order for the laser to target all of the hair follicles in the active growth phase.

  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing

  • Keep the area clean and free from cosmetics, lotions, and deodorants
